What’s in store for you this 2012?

Hello 2012! Please be friendly with me. Haha. I wonder how my life will run this new year.

Okay. 2012 will be more like finding myself. More reflection time, yes more time alone. Like now, me having my cup of coffee, thinking over a lot of things: where am I going, what stuff to do and the like. I may not appear as a serious person, so hello you I’m the serious Kate and nice to know you. J

Lately I’ve been staring blankly, gazing at nowhere, thinking..

After couple of years analyzing math problems and applying I-don’t-care formulas that you know you won’t use for the daily living, (I curse math. Haha. If you just cursed with me, now I see you smiling.) after memorizing the heck-we-care dates, places, wars and almost every detail in history books, after the laughing out loud moments in awkward P..E. activities, (Haterrr mode.) after hating school and ending up loving who’s in it, what’s in it, what you get in it, and tada! -> FINISHING IT.

After all, say with me: It was a yummy piece of cake. J

Now that I’m done studying and graduating college I need to spend more time to know myself, figure out the things that I’m capable of, weigh situations that favor me more, and of course decide to do what will be good for me. I think I’m done doing the things what people asks me to do, so done doing things what the society dictates me to do. Do I sound like a rebel? I think not. I’m more like an idealist speaking, and that makes a whole lot of difference. Listen. My point is: Stop hypocrisy. Start living YOUR life. Get up. Know yourself. Follow your heart. Do what you love.

I’m done. I enjoyed my coffee and cake. Enjoy yours. J

You’re In Control

I’m in this paradigm where people around me are limited to do what they really want to. They are bounded on things, I mean a lot of things; for fun for adventures, for chances to know more about themselves.

Reality check: You’re in control.

A friend told me that she totally envies me on how I can decide my own and freely speak about me not keeping on “track”. (I hope you get what I’m trying to say here. Haha.) She kept saying how lucky I am to be in an seemingly easy world I’m in and I was like it’s my choice. It has always been a man’s choice to go where he wants to go and do what he wants to do. Autonomy. Govern yourself. It’s your life. Don’t be a puppet on a string. Don’t be afraid. Speak up even if your voice is shaking.

Honestly, I don’t envy the ones who are successful while doing jobs that aren't their field. But I am happy for them. I’m jealous to those who aren’t successful but continuously doing what they love. People who are driven by their passion, working all day and night and not getting tired. Excited to work for tomorrow, to see how things will turn out again. Not bored, not tired, not complaining. Some or shall I say majority, aren’t making much money on it. Maybe, not now. We can’t tell. I may sound impractical and unrealistic, but driving your own ride is more to life than any negative reasons and excuses in the world.

New Year’s Resolution

Relax. Take a deep breath. There are 366 days this 2012. (2012 is a leap year. It's leap year every other 4 years. Last was 2008, so just add 4 so you know what year is next. #justsaying J). New year’s resolution doesn't require for you to instantly change on the first day of the year. You have days to work on it. Take it easy. You’re in control. Making a list isn't bad. It does motivate you to change to a better you. It’s setting goals and priorities. It’s a process.

Come on! Don’t be lazy. Grab a pen and paper. Make a short list. Now. Remember: Don’t push yourself. Life is simple. Set goals that are sure possible but not too plain boring, add some spice. Challenge yourself. J

So, here's my list:

  • Gain some weight.
  • Work out a little. Try daw nako mag ka abs. Haha.
  • Read and write more.
  • Say "please" more often.
  • Be soft-spoken. Will try very hard on it. :-/
  • Be more lady-like.
*Will add some as I spend the firsts: first Sunday, first Monday, first week, first month, so on. J

Let’s all welcome change and say hello 2012!

Dolly: Little Miss Sunshine

Dolly: Little Miss Sunshine J J J

Pag naka-smile si Doll, akala mo nakalunon ng kwitis. Why? Because her smile can light up a big room. Naks! Plus! To mention her positive energy that just over empowers any forms of negative vibes. No, she’s not a medium. Haha. J

Dolly walks around with her pretty face, glittery eyes, cute cheek bones, thin red lips. She’s undoubtedly sexy and remarkably smart. You will barely see her wearing a sad face. I don’t think problems penetrate Doll’s brain. I wonder, because she always seems carefree. She’s always cool, harmoniously taking good care of things that she believes she can manage. And I’m always impressed with that incredible attitude. What do you call that? Grace under pressure.

She’s God-fearing and hallelujah to her positive outlook in life. I don’t think Doll has the capacity to get mad. She’s that GOOD. Yeah. Way good. But I’m pretty sure she can make you laugh out loud. Just like Xej, she carries around handful of jokes. She cracks some anytime she feels to. She can also make you cry. She’s a type of friend, who’d force you to open up if she notices that there’s something bugging you. She’s so kulit when it comes to that stuff. And that’s so kind of her. Sweet! She’s a roller coaster conversation maker. Ooh lala. That just rhymed! Haha.

I just saw Dolly 2 weeks ago, and she was wearing a fatigue long-sleeve cardigan, white under shirt, pair of blue jeans, sneakers and a long vintage type necklace with a heart pendant as her bling. And I was like, “you just dress up like Elena Gilbert, the girl in Vampie Diaries”. In second thought, her personality is just like Elena’s: simple yet so amazing, sweet yet so strong.

Dollytot. Everybody’s little miss sunshine. J

P.S. You gotta pay me well with these praises Doll. Haha. JOKE.

Xejy: My Happy Vitamin

J J J

I gave her the pet name Happy Vitamin because she has that indescribable energy that makes everyone around overwhelmingly happy. Plus her show-all teeth-smile that will make you smile back for an unknown reason.

The story: I know she hated me years back. It was summer class 2009 when the school shockingly announced about the section reshuffling. I was assigned in section C and my super friends in section B. I always missed my friends and we were just a wall apart during classes. So, I spent most of the time in section B’s classroom. I was their super miss seat-in. My summer class teachers were all cool, short time lectures, seldom quizzes, 5 minute reporting, early dismissal. See! How cool was that?! And section B had group works, I mean group “dramas” (you know playlet and stuff? Mura lagi’g Star Circle Quest pirme), 50 item quizzes (which were almost everyday). Evil grin. I had no other problems in terms with that, it was just me missing my super friends. Oh! Plus another problem: The girl with big brown eyes who stared wickedly every time I was around. I noticed her hating me. I transferred to section B right after the next sem. There were a lot of group works, plus Xej and I were always in one group. She talked a lot like blah blah blah there and here and anywheeere. I was annoyed with it because she was a little bit of a “scene stealer”. Haha! Xej was everybody’s favorite and I wondered why. I was totally curious with that fact. Then one day I just felt liking her, just the way everybody did.

Let me tell you more about Xej..

She can awe anyone with her humor and energy, yeah surely she has that oomph. This perky girl who forever has back up knock-knock jokes, sometimes corny and most of the time insensible. Peace out Xej! J She’s weird, in a cute way. She talks a lot, she listens more. She says what’s in her mind, direct and sharp. Spontaneous, she is. She’s as smart as how she is talkative. She’s one smart ass. Can I hear an Amen for that? And she can make you feel comfortable even if you just met for the first time (unless if she doesn’t like you, the way she didn’t like me at first!) Haha. She can be as annoying as she wants to. She likes it when she gets into your nerves, I tell you. She annoys those who she loves the most. Tama ba Xejytot?

We don’t have a lot in common, but we agree in almost all things. Ironic ba? Di ba daw opposites attract? Hehe. E di vibes kami? J

FACT: She is one my favorite persons in the whole wide world.

Oh. How I love Surigao.

I had an escape-from-stress get away with closest friends last October 22-24. Initially we planned to go to Dakak Park and Beach Resort, which is somewhere in Visayas. But most of my friends actually have their regular jobs that they could not afford to extend their not paid day offs. We also had Seagull Mountain Resort in Buda as one of our choices. I’ve been there before and the place was amazing. We decided to go to Surigao. Manlaag man lang gani edi sa layo ta. Bring it. :-)

So for those who plan to go to Surigao let me show you its must-go-there spots.

Photo taken in a gasoline station somewhere in Comval. We stopped over to pee for a sec. Long rides are kinda hard. :/

First stop: Aveflor Inn

Hurriedly, we checked-in at Aveflor Inn. The place was nice. Just so-so. Mountain top view: breathtaking, 9 ft deep diving pool: okay, free breakfast: nom nom, grill area: literally hot, air-conditioned rooms: literally cool, on and off network signal: FAIL.

Second stop: Enchanted River

The place was WHOA. I believe I uttered whoa every other sec. And I’m not kidding. Very enchanting, I promise you. You’ll see the school of fish swimming deep down the river while the people are whirling and floating above. Weird and scary you may think but that’s for real. That’s how clear the river water is. Every 4PM is feeding time! We had a closer view of the biiig fishes. Yay!

This one is funny. My friend’s mom reserved a cottage for us (How sweet is that!). The reservation was named after my friend Carlson Senedo and they wrote down Garlson Senido. Wala man lay tama maski isa. Haha.

And this one is shameful. My toes cramped during the last minute swimming. I was whirling to death and the pain was hell. Then I realized I wasn’t moving even a little toward a safer place. The life guard had to throw this life saver thing to me. People stared then in my mind was a background cricket sound of kroooo kroooo, so I grabbed the thing in slow motion para dramatic. Haha. Early that day I was repeating a hundred times like “Im’ma bay watch baby”. Took a pose. Click. More poses. Wore life vest. Then did dog swim - dog swim. FAIL. I’m not a good swimmer.

We went back to Aveflor after an hour ride. We relaxed a bit, took power naps then immediately cooked dinner. After that we had a quick night swimming, had a few drinks, long chit chats and a whole lot of L.O.L.s. Knocked out around 3am.

Woke up about 7am. But we actually planned to get up at 6, so suposedly by 7 we should have kept going because long rides were ahead of us and so little time to have fun. Surigao is kinda big.

Packed up and checked out then went straight to our next stop.

Third stop: Doll House

When we arrived, tada! We were shocked with this seemingly-never-ending stairway. We were all tired and sleepy. We were so not in the mood to check out Doll House that was actually featured in ABS-CBN’s Rated K and other national shows. No regrets, at least we had longer nap time. And I guess some of my friends have this phobia in dolls.

Fourth stop: Tinuy-an Falls

The 2-hour ride made me puke but the place made me slobber with its awesomeness. I felt like I’m in a haven. The place was jaw dropping. Drool.

Fourth stop: La Entrada

Hello great network signal! Hello wi-fi! Haha. La entrada was wonderful. The place was sorrounded with mangroves, it had floating restaurant and rooms.

Fifth stop: 21 Islands

La Entrada had boats for rent so tourists could explore the 21 islands. I think the travel took about 30 mins. It was not boring because the sea creatures were just astounding. Then we had boodle fight breakfast in one of the islands which was absolutely fun!

*P.A. namo na kana sa tunga, di ba artistahin sya? Hehe.

*Echus kaayo among driver ug P.A., sila jud magbuot unsa among i-pose. Manipulative kaayo. Haha.
